Crime Prevention Matters

The Rural Flegg Safer Neighbourhood Team meets with representatives from all the villages in the Flegg area each quarter to discuss any specific crime incidents or trends that are worrying local residents.  These issues are then prioritised for the local Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) and Police to work on during the next Quarter.  In the past, we have asked the Police to prioritise on such matters as the thefts of diesel and oil from tanks, distraction burglaries, bogus callers, illegal parking and speeding.  Each Quarter the Police produce reports and statistics to show members what they have been doing to address these issues.

As a Stokesby resident, Wendy Reader has been attending these Quarterly meetings, and will take any concerns or priorities that you feel the Police should consider.   Please feel free to contact Wendy  if you have any concerns you would like raised, or would like to know more about these initiatives.  Alternatively, please come along to one of the meetings yourself.

Wendy is also the person to go to for Stokesby Village Home-watch issues.  After any crime or incident in the village Wendy is informed by the Homewatch team  - and she can - if asked - come round to visit victims -  and offer any practical or emotional support.  There are also posters and window-stickers that can be displayed to warn-off prospective burglars.
